This is the start of the Pennine Way for those walking from south to north. It starts in Edale Village then take sin Kinder, Bleaklow and Black Hill before reaching Standedge where the Peak District gives way to the South Pennines where the route continues north, crossing the M62, passing the White House, above Littleborough, then continuing to Hebden Bridge. The going is now quite good almost all of the way.
