2020

Having compiled a blog for the last few years, it hasn't been particularly enjoyable and very much like a chore so, in 2020, it will be even more downsized than in 2019!

January

Spent much of the month doing local cycles in Lincolnshire to see if the troublesome knee improves with rest.

February

Continued with cycling then had a week in Glossop exploring around James's Thorn, Shelf Benches and Ferny Hole.

March
Continued with cycling around Lincoln getting as far as Collingham then had another week in Glossop with walks which included Curbar Edge, Crookstone Knoll and Edale Moor Trig Point.  Now that there are restrictions because of coronavirus, can only cycle around the Lincoln area but also adding in a few woodland walks too even though they they are a million miles away from mountaineering!

April
Continuing with local walks and cycles as the coronavirus epidemic continues.

May

Continuing with local walks and cycles as the coronavirus epidemic continues.  On 18 May, with travel restrictions lifted across England, headed for a very quiet part of the Peak District to revisit Shelf Benches, Ferny Hole and Yellowslacks Ridge.  This time, managed to get into Ferny Hole although ot does need care and the cave is very narrow with holes in the floor!  Once I had branched off for Shelf Benches, I did not see another soul until back down off the Yellowslacks ridge on the popular dog walking track.  I should add that the journey took me past Langsett Reservoir car park which was closed for some reason putting lots of pressure on the other car parks on the open road.  The Torside car park on the back road from the A628 to Glossop was open although it's toilets were closed.

June

With the lockdown continuing, June was just like May with more local walks and cycles.

July

Continuing with local walks and cycles but managed to get to Fountains Fell in the Yorkshire Dales and Grindslow Knoll in the Peak District then, at the end of the month, made it to Pen-y-Ghent and Plover Hill in the Yorkshire Dales.

August

Just continuing in the same vein but also getting to Whernside.

September
Likewise but also getting to Ingleborough.

October
Likewise

November & December

Just squeezed in another walk up Ingleborough before another lockdownand that was it apart from some local walks around Lincoln!
