Introduction

This is a pleasant walk around a Butterfly Reserve on a good path. There are fine views and scenic waterfalls. Butterflies will only be seen during the summer! Toadstools may be seen in the autumn. The section through the reserve can be walked in either direction. Going clockwise gives the best views of the Allt Mhuic waterfall.

Route

(1) Walk up the public road until opposite site 10 then take the path opposite and follow this up to the forestry road passing the impressive waterfall on the way. At the road, turn left, W, and walk for about 15 minutes to reach a bridge where there is another impressive waterfall on the right, N.

(2) Retrace back along the forestry track but continue past the outward path. Cross the Allt Mhuic using the forestry road then go through the gate and descend through the Butterfly Reserve back to the car park.

Notes

(a) This walk took place on 6th October, 2013.
